I think the game element comes in when you start screengrabbing.

The actual thing ain't fun at all, just fancy gash to show how clever their web designers are. I think it shows how bad their camera guys are with a green screen.

Video getting boring? Buffering got you miffed? Mash the arrow keys like you're trying to win something, and a game of snake will start, in any youtube video. An easter egg, I suppose. This is a normal post Translation
Firstly, apologies for rusty Spanish:

Banner: "We want to feel fear... but without taking risks"

Presenter: "Corneo(?) is very beautiful, right? *audience groan* Of course, until you take them out of context. That is what we have done in the hidden camera [[god this is hard]]. We took a normal child - normal, without any special effects - (something) memories (something)..."
Female person - "(something something) emotional"
Presenter - "A very beautiful little girl, we put her in a nightgown, a little (something), and we put her in a hotel corridor - nothing more. Nothing more. Never has a hidden camera been so easy. See what happens."

*Cut to VT*

Before we give a little fear we prepare this camera against, transform this adorable girl into a pallid girl. (something about lying in wait)

[[bloody hell this is really difficult]]

How rational are people when they encounter (the child of?) no-one in the corridor of their hotel?

*Cue first clip of woman with glasses walking into corridor*

VO: And she doesn't touch her [as the woman walks along the wall past the girl]

[too many voices cutting to audience laughter for me to get it... sorry guys. Think it begins: "Look, if -"]

*scream*
*Scream*
"Ha Ha" "Incredible"

Cleaning woman: "The maid is scared of her!(?)"

[God, my Spanish has really gone downhill. If anyone wants to do a better job, feel free. I'd love to have a translation and then listen for the bits I missed.]

Next couple at 1:53 - Really hard to tell with the laughter. Think it's "Ho ho, they believe (inaudible)"

Screamy woman screams, then fade back to studio, guy on right says:
"How diplomatic of her!" (?)

Okay, it finishes up with a One Show-type discussion about response to fear: fight, flight, freeze, attack. "Ah yes," says the presenter, "but it can also give us amusement"
*repeat screamy woman*

Translator's note: And I'm spent. I think I deserve a beer. Although I did lose interest at the end. I don't even watch the One Show in English. Is it even still on the air? Because of this fact, I may have fudged the last paragraph. I assure you I am doing my best to find a shit to give. For the time being, though, you'll just have to deal with it.

I get the feeling that I'm not the intended audience. And I have no problem with you posting it on here - they are indeed issues that need tackling.

(, Mon 7 Mar 2011, 23:40, Reply)
This is a normal post No I certainly don't think men are the problem behind inequality
it's the problem with the whole process of Socialisation where Girls are given dolls and prams as presents and Boys are given toy guns and toy cars maybe this isn't as true as it once was but the seperation of the genders still continues but to a degree that's not a bad thing after all I'm sure most of us don't want to live is an Asexual Society where all gender indentity is removed - I certainly don't.
(, Mon 7 Mar 2011, 23:46, Reply)
This is a normal post Oh please don't get me wrong
I'm not saying you think that - indeed, I'm not even saying that the people behind the video think that.

It's a form of multiculturalism - no, no, stay with me. You have defined groups which should simultaneously be proud of what makes them different while being afforded equal opportunity.

And before anyone else jumps in, yes, I am aware that multiculturalism can mean different things to different people. If anyone wants to take issue with "multiculturalism", be advised that I will refer you to the words "form of" and this link: news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9389000/9389502.stm
(, Mon 7 Mar 2011, 23:52, Reply)
This is a normal post I'm agreeing with what your saying rather than opposing your views
yes I agree it's a form of multiculturalism but a bit more complex than that as Men and Women aren't different cultures just different social indentities trying to work out a balance would be very very difficult as gender means different things to different people. The fact that 2 women die each week from former or current partners isn't a trend in society just that a minority of males see women as merely property but I'm sure there are as many women with a distorted view about their relationship with men.
(, Mon 7 Mar 2011, 23:58, Reply)
This is a normal post A social identity could be seen as an expression of culture
but if we go down that road we're rather getting off the point.

My problem with that fact is that most people know their killer (oddly, same goes for rape, just for the record), and since women are less likely to kill regardless of their victim's gender, and the men that women know best will be their (ex-)partner. It's misleading in a way. Yes, men kill more women than women do, but they also kill more men than women on the whole.

In terms of distorted view... well, we're in danger of getting into another area again. If you're interested in this, PM me some instant messenger info, and we can have a chat at a time convenient to you. I am certainly enjoying this discussion, and never shy away from learning more - either for or against my views. If you don't want to, that's fine too - this isn't a challenge or throwing down a gauntlet. Simply that I'm enjoying this and if you are too we can continue it without taking over the /links board :)

However, I have been motivated to track down specific numbers and sources for those facts. It's knowledge I've picked up over the years, which I realise isn't the most reliable way of doing it.
(, Tue 8 Mar 2011, 0:11, Reply)
This is a normal post Well I'm enjoying the debate too but I'll pass on your kind offer of PMing you
as I'm a little tired after a long day at work.

But I think it's true that Men are more prone to violence but once again this goes back to the whole process of Socialisation where men are expected to potentially lay down their lives in times of war and women are expected to bear and raise children for the continuation of society so it's all a bit hard-wired into society that Men will be prone towards violence and Women towards caring and nurturing I suppose.
(, Tue 8 Mar 2011, 0:26, Reply)
This is a normal post I'm not sure if you have any kids yourself, so please don't think i'm being snotty
little boys, not given guns, will make them out of twigs and lego. Little girls not given dolls will be equally inventive to create them. It isn't society giving them to the children - it's hardwired in the DNA of children to play with guns or dolls according to gender
