here in florida the seatbelt law only applies to cars manufactured after 1968. surely they can't have a law requiring seatbelts for cars that don't have them.

This is a normal post the saftey standard of cars built for the chinese market are generally as low as you get
take this car for example which score a zero out of five safety rating.

But I don't know exactly why many cars-particularly taxis in china don't have seat belts. in my experience they seemed to have been either broken and useless, or stuffed underneath the seat covers making them inaccessible anyway. not wearing a seat belt is just part of the culture, and unfortunately its a hard habit to break.

This is a normal post While I know what you mean,
but sadly this has a long way to go. My understanding is that currently a few different rebel factions (the article mentions the Syrian Revolution Union and the Free Syrian Army alone) are working together against a common foe. If they win, they will probably start fighting each other.
This is one of the reasons the rest of the world is reluctant to get involved.
(, Mon 27 Aug 2012, 15:17, , Reply)
This is a normal post Actually I think Wiki might have a more likely explanation for the 'reluctance'.
"Syria is a relatively small oil producer, accounting for just 0.5 percent of the global production in 2010."

This is a normal post I accept your cynicism, but agree with Sundae
There is sufficient video of the rebels throwing bodies off of high rises. Even if you accept their version that those tossed off were already dead, had a western power done that, embassies would be burned as the treatment goes against the Koran.

I think maybe waiting is a good thing.

This is a link post Chimera cat
A chimera or chimaera is a single organism (usually an animal) that is composed of two or more different populations of genetically distinct cells that originated from different zygotes involved in sexual reproduction. If the different cells have emerged from the same zygote, the organism is called a mosaic. Chimeras are formed from at least four parent cells (two fertilized eggs or early embryos fused together). Each population of cells keeps its own character and the resulting organism is a mixture of tissues. Chimeras are typically seen in animals; there are some reports of human chimerism

This is a normal post Yes
in that all tortoiseshell cats are chimeras - it's actually very common in cats (and this is why if you have a tortoiseshell it's almost always female). This cat happens to have unusual patterning that really very starkly shows the effect in a cool 'two face' way, as opposed to 'three-patchy-blotchy-face and-part-of-the-ear' way...
