Was in a taxi rank a few years ago and heard mucho footsteps in the floor upstairs. Taxi came and questioned the noise. "normally, people fuck here or eat and go home" said the chap. "Balti Nights are always the best in town" went the song to the tune of Boogie Nights. Trufax.

He-Man In His Twilight Years
I made this!
Righto, so a few years back (I think), I posted up a couple of cartoons that I'd written with a friend and given to Lee Healey (him off of Viz's fantastic Drunken Bakers) to draw. He took his bloody time, I can tell you. Asked him for 3 cartoons, it took him 4 years to finish. This final part of the trilogy means it's been worth the wait. That's all I can say. Those who came to the London Bash at the weekend will have seen it already. Clicking "I made this" because I wrote it all by myself. *prouds*

Ultimae stuff might possibly be a bit more up your alley but personally I don't like chillout to be too ambient (i.e. too little percussion). These albums are very well produced and have a lot of direction musically, also.

well, depends what it is. If it's one of them quantum levitation things then yeah they exist, but the whole skate area would need to be metal or a magnet or whatever.

According to the write-up I read early they put metal under the skate park surface.

Not sure I get that, I wouldn't class a real skateboard as a toy. More like a self harm device.

Gake To The Future
No, it's real, I just wanted to do the pun. :D It sounds basic and shite though:
"The hoverboard uses magnetic levitation with liquid nitrogen-cooled superconductors and permanent magnets to give the hoverboard 'frictionless movement' of a kind that had been thought impossible, according to Lexus."
Looks like we're stuck with sensationalised everyday science until someone actually makes a breakthrough in understanding/harnessing gravity. And then what would anyone want a hoverboard for? I'd opt for "Floaty Sneakers" instead. :)

How do you stop it flying off sideways at any point?
A skateboard has huge lateral resistance, due to its wheels being firmly in contact with the ground. This will be like trying to skateboard on a frictionless surface.
The back to the future boards had sideway resistance too, or Marty would not have been able to get going in a straight line without years of practice.
No wonder you don't see anyone actually using it - How would you get it to turn once it was going? It would just spin ...perhaps some kind of punting.
Lexus FAIL

This, among other reasons, is why I was just thinking,
why the fuck would anyone want a hover board? Surely skate boards are much better.

Racist Friend
Oh bugger. A nice guy i made music with who was a recvovering alcoholci when i met him has fallen off the wagon and when i was round to see him today he was telling me he'd been in some fights with some black guys over christmas when he relapsed which it sounds like he started with racist chat ('i don't like black people'/'the trouble with black people' type shit) and then he was using the word nigger quite casually, tellng me he doesn't like black people and that it was his right as a white man to say whatever he likes. though he was drunk and tried to make it a joke after he seems just quite a lot more racist than he used to be or maybe just a lot more than i realised. at any rate i have serious reservations about being on a stage with him if this is the sort of shit he says. mad drunken racist liability that he is. we make hip hop too so i really don't know where this racist shit has come from cos it's not that usual to find racist hip hop heads. oh well.

Tough one mate.
Drinking can bring out the worst in people. Maybe if he gets himself sorted out again he'll change (unless he's always been like that but it's only coming out more now due to the booze), you can't help people in that situation unless they want to help themselves though, if he doesn't want to get help i'd keep some distance but stay in touch for if he needs some support in future if he decides to seek help, shit as it is, there's not much more you can do.

I don't agree with the general sentiment.
I would emphasise that he is probably behaving like a trash when drinking before
trying to reason with adult drunkard.

No such thing as alcoholism either, just people who are actively and consciously opting out of normal behaviour because they've weighed up the options and decided that being wankered is more fun than being part of society. Non physical addiction is just an excuse for "I don't actually want to stop, this is more fun".
This may sound particularly harsh, but its almost 5pm, I'm going to be stuck at work for ages more and all I want is some booze :)

Looks like Tae Kwon Do to me.
He's doing alright! I can't get my leg very high either, especially on a side kick. Needs to sort out his reaction hand though, but that'll come. And more hip.
Funny enough, I have a grading on Saturday with a pre-grading rehearsal tonight, along with the wife and kids.
[edit] After a bit of a looksie it is TaeKwonDo, ITF style and the Tul (or kata for Japanese arts) is Eui-Am a Dan grade pattern.
