I'm too quiet. I'd argue that I'm just getting on with my work. I like my job, I'm reasonably good at it, but I don't like to make a song and dance about it.

However, it's been noticed by some of the higher ups, which is not a good thing.

But my boss is a star. He warned me about the undue attention I'm receiving, and said: 'I'd say 'keep your head down', but that's the problem'.

I share an office with a silent man
It was a little odd at first as you try and make conversation with a new person in a small office but you will get little more than yes/no without a lot of pushing. We tend to leave him to it and not bother him..he asks questions when he needs to but beyond that is a closed book and we have given up trying to work him out.

I got marked down on my annual review last year...
...because I didn't have a high enough profile with the senior managers. My boss's boss's argument was that he couldn't defend me in the "levelling" process (so I was marked down) because he didn't have evidence as to the level of my contribution. Except that he did, in the form of the review written by my manager. Senior boy just chose to ignore it.
