This is a question Redundant technology

Music on vinyl records, mobile phones the size of house bricks and pornography printed on paper. What hideously out of date stuff do you still use?

Thanks to boozehound for the suggestion

PS2
Yes, even though I have a PS3, Wii and other fun toys I still use my PS2. My PS3 doesn't have backwards capability so I must use my PS2 but I use it gladly if I might add. Play Station Store is being a little bit kind by re-releasing PS1/2 games for the PS3 platform. But why re-buy your favorite game when you already own it and have a working PS2? With my lappy at home I use XP and for added bedrock capabilities I use my trusty rice cooker where you have to press the lever down (oh the strain!). Unlike those fancy ones where you can have it cook all by itself via digital timers and such. And to impress you B3tans further I write to my friend with paper and pen!! (please insert impressed sounds here)

Yep, still have the trusty PS2. Sadly, I think it's dying.
It can start up and load games fine but after half an hour of play, it tends to start stuttering and then crashes (probably because the laser loses its place on the disc) and I have to switch it off, losing all unsaved progress! D: Cracked it open and gave it a good cleaning last summer, yet it still crashes. I guess Vice City and San Andreas are too much for my, what, 8 year old console? Those are the only two I have any problems with (so far) anyway.
Perhaps I should look for a second hand replacement on the Internet during next summer, possibly a more recent slim version. Incidently, I *would* have bought a PS3 straight away if it was completely backwards compatible, but those bastards at Sony removed it so you would be forced to buy brand new games instead of playing your old ones and not giving them your money. I say fuck 'em and stick to the arcade mode of TimeSplitters 2.

I can relate....
My first PS1 died and that was alright because PS2 came along to give me more hours of joy. And then the PS2 died, I tried to revive the sucker. Had open PS surgery and cleaned it from the inside and out. It lived for a good year before I couldn't revive it any more. I then broke down and bought a brand new slim version. We are best friends. Nothing says your PS2 loves you when it actually works and allows me hours of fun with Metal Gear. I hope your PS2 makes it, if not, a new slim PS2 might be something you could ask Santa for.

So jealous!
I really wish the Gods at Sony would make all PS3's backwards compatible. In the meantime I am jealous of you :p

As I sit here
My housemate is playing PES 2008 on the PS2. It is a common sight in our flat.
