Are spelled differently than they're pronounced. I say "nuke-you-ler" and "reg-uh-ler".

It is NOT 'nuke-you-ler'! It IS spelled how it's pronounced: 'new-clear'. Get it right!

It refers to reactions which occur between one atomic nucleus and another atomic nucleus. A Nu-Cle-Us, is not pronounced Nu-Clus, and consequently reactions pertaining to these are not Nu-Clear reactions, they are Nu-Cle-Er reactions.
