You might as well sayI was going to buy a lottery ticket, but then decided it wasn't worth it. Some other guy did though and won £3M. What was I thinking?
You judged it to be too risky to invest. That judgement was probably correct: most businesses like that do fail. The fact that this particular business succeeded does not mean that the risk was not there.
It just means that you are too risk-averse to ever be successful!
