Ruined Buzzcocks, made it obvious he wasn't trying.
Went to see him live. Mistake. Rubbish support act did 20 minutes, then there was an interval. After the interval, Amstell came on and moaned about how nobody loved him and how he couldn't get laid and how terrible his life is, except oh yeah he did get a bloke to have sex with him once, blah blah. His set lasted less than 50 minutes, including about 30 seconds completely failing to deal with a half-hearted heckler, and there was no encore. All in all, we were back on the street not much after 9pm feeling ripped off.
Compare and contrast Jimmy Carr, who for the same price does at least two solid hours of material you've not heard before and tears the living heart from hecklers and eats it.
Amstell is worthless. Do not, do not, do not, EVER buy a ticket to see him live.
