Home Sweet Home
Today I am going to Bass Day. I hope to return later with bleeding ears.

What are your plans today?

Quote of the Day....
From news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7717819.stm

"The autopsy results show that all three are dead," Jasman Panjaitan told a news conference.

I'd hope that the Doctor didn't wait until the END of the AUTOPSY to declare them dead... most medical professionals tend to have a good idea before asking for an autopsy on someone.

Fooling around with stained glass.
Wanna see some of what I've made so far?

The leaves on the light box I made last night, and are about two inches across.

The simple rectangular things are the fronts of boxes I make that have a light inside to make a self-illuminating stained glass window.

The other window is fairly large and hangs in my kitchen window.

I'm starting to get the hang of this.

Is 7 minutes enough or do you prefer the European 16.2 minutes?
Interesting article in the Torygraph suggesting that the European male has more than twice the "lasting power" of the American male!

Comments welcome from our cousins over the water

Heheheheh.
Even a 27-year-old mobster wants liposuction, it seems.

www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/11/07/mafia.arrest.lipsuction.ap/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

One of the things that always gives me the giggles when I read about American mobsters getting busted is the nicknames they give each other. The Chin, the Bull, all these stupid little tags... I wonder what his nickname was? Scungilli Face? Calamari Lips?

Oh, and this review causeth me to giggle: www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1857303,00.html?cnn=yes

This is way off topic but bear with me...
I have a theory.

Firstly, it should be pointed out that I have had a drink. Secondly, it should be pointed out that I am at work. Finally, although at risk of inflating my own head to the point of explosion, I am an exceptionally bright individual.

I have had a bad hand dealt to me by biology. I'll explain why, and I have a feeling this theory is not unique, so if anyone can point out a duplicate postulate, please let me know.

Humankind wakes up in the morning n-steps above, or n-steps below, a certain line which we might call the sobriety line. Those who are homeless and alcoholic might, for example, wake up two 'drinks' (the n) below this line, while those who are extrovert and comfortably-off might be two 'drinks' above the line.

In my opinion, every single person wakes up orbiting this line. I have had a significant amount of brandy (let's say, 3 'n' or 'drinks' above the line) which has elevated me to a great mood and a smile). However, I wake up normally 2n ('drinks') below the line, to the extent that my (wonderful) fiancee calls me 'grumpy bear' in the morning with good reason and I don't begin to feel myself until I've had a snifter.

Where do you wake up in the morning? How many n above or below do you feel? Answers on a postcard etc. etc.

Length is 6.5 billion people worldwide.

Some news stories...
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7715686.stm - What kind of a sick fuck do you have to be to try something like this?

And in contrast -

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/7715345.stm - How cool is this?

A worrying trend....
Kermit has just texted me to say he is going to a gay club tonight with someone called Laslo.

Many years ago I went out with a man who is now a woman.

Is it me?

'It only takes a minute' by that bunch of cumknuckles, Take That, I believe.

Grrrr.

What songs get stuck in your head?

I am fucking pissed off to fuck.
Seriously. Every night after work, I go to a particular bar for a couple of drinks. People I thought were my friends have just been struck off my Christmas Card list (not that I had one, but you get my gist).

There are 6 of us in our "group", plus a bunch of others that swing by from time to time. 3 ouf the "group" tonight kept making racist, bigoted comments about Obama being the next president - they're staunch Republicans so voted for McCain. But I realize that even if Condoleeza Rice would have run for President, they'd have voted Democrat if it was a white candidate.

Fucking fuck. Sorry for the rant, I just can't stand people who pretend to be something they're not and then show their true colours when it suits them.

Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I did get my own back kind of by pouring a pint over the head of the main guy spouting the comments right as I left the pub

right i'd like to respond to bearpookie's question below
i had to lash out a few months ago for the new UK biometric passport - hundred quid or so. holds data on it clever little fucker it is

i also had to do the same for my wife and child

aside from the advanced muppetry of trying to tell a 2 year old not to smile for a passport pic what fucking use is a 10 year passport to a 2 year old - is he supposed to look the same aged 12?

furthermore i also have jumped through hoops to get one of the new driving licences - the picture is in black and white because it is 'lasered' *slides volcano roof back* onto the plastic. well whoop de feckin do

why the fuck do i need and id card i have a passport and a driving licence?

Are people really that stupid?
Or is she telling porkies.

Jacqui Smith says public demand means people will be able to pre-register for an ID card within the next few months.

The cards will be available for all from 2012 but she said: "I regularly have people coming up to me and saying they don't want to wait that long."

Thursday Evening

My oldest son
has been having a problem with sleeping through morning classes.

I think I have a solution.

I'm going to build a framework that will stand beside his bed, consisting of a post with an articulated arm that's normally standing upright. An alarm clock will be built into the base part, but its switch will be out of reach unless you get out of bed.

If you don't get out of bed within thirty seconds, a solenoid pulls down the articulated arm. At the end of this are is an electric motor. Attached to the shaft of the motor are two or more strips of rubber. So if you don't get out of bed and shut it off, it will start slapping you awake.

I imagine that it would only have to go off like that once- waking up to being at the bottom of a girly fight would be rather rude.

This thought has been making me giggle all day.

A poll
Most of my friends are of the female persuasion. We seemed do seem to have reached a concensus that cheese is the new chocolate. So, b3tesses - is this true? Cheese or chocolate? I personally would love to see the Milk Tray man backflip onto a yacht and present the lady with a box of mini babybels.

2½ hours
into the qotw and no "I found maddie" jokes.

I find this not only disappointing but slightly worrying, or is Althegeordie just waiting for the mood to be right?

Hello dear readers,

I've been looking for a CD for sometime now but its out of press and was wondering if one of you lovely people perhaps had a copy that I could maybe buy off you.

The CD is 'Big Guitars in little Europe' by Justin Sullivan (New Model Army) & Dave Blomberg.

I'll pay upto £15.00 if anyone has copy they want to sell
