Early Morning/Late night all
How is everyone if you are still about?

I am here!
How's yourself?
I have overdone the Mario Kart at the expense of my blistered thumbs.

I'm very well squire
I am thinking about playing on my Wii, but not wanting to disturb the neighbours so retreated to my comfy sofa in my bedroom to spatter the internets with my writings.

It does have to be played loud
I've also had my music blasting, not realising my housemate was in. She wasn't best pleased at having Gay For Johnny Depp's Blood: The Natural Lubricant seeping through her floorboards. It's an aquired taste.

Sounds an interesting
and strange audible delight

Ultra-screamy hardcore
Really short songs, flung together and all a bit DIY on the production front but I quite like them.

Spookiness abounds
I've been doing Friday night drunken online shopping, and one of the things I've been trying to buy is Mariokart. Since everywhere seems to be out of stock of it, I'm going to have a look (while sober) in the shops tomorrow. I'm also going to have to buy Guitar hero for the wii, as I've been suffering withdrawal since getting rid of the xbox 360 version. Wireless geetars FTW!

Nevertheless, I have managed to purchase a few choice items:

- 2 Nouvelle vague CDs
- Kid Rock's latest
- The Kinks Ultimate collection
- A couple of Marvel ultimate series hardbacks

On a vaguely related subject...
Numerous discussions about cider drinking on the Off-topic board prompted me to try a few of the newer premium ciders that are out there just now. Now, this is odd for me, as I'm usually an ale or single malt bloke. But, I gave them a try, and must admit I quite enjoyed them.

I found a couple of good ones last week, but I'll be passing a Waitrose tomorrow and they're normally quite good for interesting selections of stuff - any suggestions as to others I should try?

Organic cider
is quite nice.
There's a lovely pinky blush cider that begins with A. Can't for the life of me remember what it is.

I have resorted to Strongbow this evening for financial reasons.

@ Fireflier
You seriously reduced my opinion of you when you mentioned purchasing Kid Rock's latest, your only redeeming feature is The Kinks.

Side note
Its too hot and stuffy to sleep :(

Well you see...
One of my favourite songs is Sweet Home Alabama. It's one of my summer songs, along with mostly everything from the B-52s (but especially the Cosmic Thing album), Boys of summer (Don Henley original, obviously), and various others.

I've been hearing the his new song "All summer long" all over the place recently, and it always sends me into a summery trance, at leat partially as it borrows heavily from S.H.Alabama. There are a few others of his I've heard and linked (Cowboy is good and I can't help BUT sing along to American Badass), so I reckoned I'd give it a shot.

Edit: Side note of my own. I know that Cosmic Thing and Good Stuff are the two most commercial B-52s albums, but Cosmic thing especially is pitched perfectly as a summer-drinking-chilled-beverage-of-your-choice-in-the-park album.

I too am a fan of the B52s
I shall look into these albums of which you speak.

I haven't convinced you
with Gay For Johnny Depp then?

I am quite partial to the B52s as well, but if your going for quirky, I always preferred They Might Be Giants.

Favourite B-52s album is Whammy
...and my favourite song on that is Trism. Keep trying to turn it into a ringtone, but failing to make it work.

Probably my all-time favourite B's song is "Debbie". It just seems, I dunno - complete - somehow.

But - I did manage to set up what I think is quite a cool ringtone on my phone - the instrumental part of Cake's "Short Skirt, Long Jacket"

I will investigate being Gay for Mr Depp (isn't everyone at least slightly?)
...but I do love TMBG. So, so many of their songs just make me smile. Off the top of my head - "Santa's Beard" and "Your Racist Friend" come to mind.

Hmm
I shall investigate these artistes, tomorrow when I can keep both eyes open longer than 15 seconds.

Night all, I am off to my much needed beauty sleep.
