Getting things done
I have had two "fix this issue" tickets with support teams for a couple of weeks. Having jumped through half a dozen hoops the first one was sitting there "assigned/low priority" for another two days until I went physically to the support guys and asked them what else they needed. Gave them the details and 5 minutes later it was done.
Network team also have a habit of waiting until you go home for the evening before sending you an email saying you filled out the ticket wrong/need another approval/have to wait another week.
Is your work any good?

It sounds like you work in our place
We get this all the time from development
"Well it works in production" = it must work 100% of the time everywhere with real world data

It varies, they're mostly pretty good tbh
It just takes a very short time for them all to become a bunch of arseholes.

The head of our IT department also happens to be our MD.
He's the laziest cunt in the world, we assign a level of priority to jobs and in turn he spends all day being a prick on twitter and Facebook, chatting on golf forums and gaining incredible amounts of weight.
He's currently two years behind on his workload, refuses to let anyone else in IT deal with the system development and is in complete denial over his ineptitude.
Second biggest cunt I've ever worked for.

The IT department here are managed by the head of user support
it works pretty well because his job is to keep the users happy. he does this by making IT fix everything within an agreed time period.

...IT staff are clueless lazy cunts who are fucked if a problem's more complicated than 'switch it off and on again' or 'replace something'.

That would be a 'service delivery' issue.
I'm not service delivery. Websites, data, that kind of thing. Proper stuff.

Generally not too bad,
But do have a habit of leaving out key information about a job, so we turn up expecting one thing, and then look a bit of a knob when the client tells us what's really going on. Winds me up.
