Dublin
Going to Dublin for 5 days for my wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks. Anybody got any travel tips? What to see? What to avoid? I like old buildings and beer (but not Guinness). Mr Whiskers can't hold his drink and is a fussy eater but will happily tag along behind me whilst I ogle sash windows.

I don't like Guinness
But the Guinness they serve you in Dublin isn't anything like the shite you get over here in Britain. It's dark and velvety and beautiful.

I want to go to Dublin again. And Tulip is right, the Guiness over there is the nectar of the Gods.

Drink Kilkenny
it's better than the Guiness over there, and the Guiness there is better than the Guiness here, and I like the Guiness here.

howaya?
Fitzwilliam Square and Merrion Square is all Georgian buildings and a beautifully maintained park from the days when Dublin was the second city of the empire. You've got the national gallery, museum and the dead zoo (natural history museum) there as well and you're only a stones throw from the less touristy bit of Trinity College.
There's a porterhouse not far from there either where you can try their micro-brewery beers although I recommend a walk along the canal from 'The Schoolhouse' bar (nice pannini's) up to Portabello for a really good pint of Arthur's Black Nectar. The film 'Nora' about James Joyce's missus was filmed along the canal and I once saw Ewan MacGregor there during filming. It's also instrumental in Ulysses and other Dublin literature.
I could go on - gaz me if you like.
