More specifically how to speed up the process without it costing a shit load of money?

Hi Becky,
If you have the time, I would recommend doing it yourself - did your dad write a will?
My mum passed Feb 21st, the lawyers said it would be 9-12 months to go through probate, but my twin did it all and everything was finalized early July.
It can be a pain in the arse, but if you need more info, gaz me.
