Very nice. Living up to your wanderlust moniker then. How long for? And will you still be around here giving us reports on your progress?

As for the old folk - I agree that they should have a right to be warm and comfortable in their houses, but everyone's different. They won't all use the money for its intended purpose, although I'd guess that most sensible people would do.

Some folk will just spend the money on fags and drink. Others will stash it away and not spend it. Some may buy their grandchildren presents with it.

In a way, it doesn't matter, but as it's being given out as a heating allowance, it would make more sense to have it allocated to the supply companies to reduce bills.

There are also some pretty rich old folk who have no need for it whatsoever. Running a country is a difficult job!
