I have the sincerest feeling I'm up shit-creek without a paddle.
I'm going to the Fringe in about a week. I was told when booking my tickets that I could stay with a friend, who was in a show. She's just turned round today and told me that I can't stay after all. So I'm in a bit of a pickle.

Anyone know anywhere cheap I can stay?

I don't know the city well (even though might be going to uni there... oh dear.)
I thought about hostels, but likely they'll be booked up due to fringe/short notice?

Someone suggested Gumtree, that's looking quite reasonable actually.

We stayed at the Frederick House Hotel
and booked it through octopustravel.co.uk - if you do it that way, you have to pay up front, but you can get cheaper deals.

Unfortunately due to late notice it's all expensive.

Found a really nice looking place in Grosvenor Gardens for 55£ for 4 nights. Maybe I'm hallucinating, and it's actually PER night, or PER PERSON PER NIGHT (it's a three person room, and it's just me on my todd at the moment...)
