I am referring to screaming babies who are taken to entirely inappropriate places by their dimwith parents. I proffer these real-life examples:
The underground tour of Seattle
The Natural History Museum
Any restaurant with tablecloths
I have many more but you get my gist
I am sorry but certain things should be adults only. Your kid is ruining it for everyone and it isn't getting the attention it deserves.
If you have a kid you have to face up to the fact that you can't do all the things you want to.

Why have people forgotten this? What happened to hiring babysitters? Or just not going?
I didn't take my kids to any of those kinds of places until they were well behaved enough to not disturb other patrons. It is not as difficult as you would think to train a toddler how to behave. I had mine restraunt-friendly by the time they were 3 & 4. Just start practicing early and know their limits. Not only have I never had a tacky look from another customer, but I have actually had other patrons stop by my table to compliment my children's behavior.

You are a civilised parent who understands their responsibilities. I too would compliment you if I saw your kids behaving. Credit where its due.
The British seem to be better at this on the whole. I have just been to America and they have no sense of what is polite or proper.
