Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

Tom & Jerry can't even escape it....
I was saddend to hear some time ago that kids won't be able to see all the full Tom & Jerry episodes any more. Why?

Because some arsey parent complained that there was smoking in it and it wasn't a good example to be setting for kids. So now apparently all the smoking scenes are being edited out for tv viewing.

Fucking idiots. I grew up with Tom & Jerry watching them smoke and I don't smoke, I don't see the problem, maybe if they were better parents it might not happen.

STOP BLAMING IT ON CARTOONS!!!

All of the T&J cartoons that include the "alternatively pigmented" cleaner that used to stand on a stool with a broom at the sight of a small mouse

I grew up with T&J too...I don't smoke

But I do like to spang people in the face with frying pans.
And give them sticks of dynamite instead of birthday candles.

Yeah...
and the parts where Tom gets hit with a cymbal and turns into a comedy china man, or when the exploding cigar trick turns one or other of them into something resembling a 'comedy' Buckwheat have been taken out too... these cartoons must only be about 7 seconds long after editing :-)
