This is a question Random Acts of Kindness

Crackhouseceilidhband asks: Has anyone ever been nice to you, out of the blue, for no reason? Have you ever helped an old lady across the road, even if she didn't want to? Make me believe that the world is a better place than the media and experience suggest

A homeless guy once gave me change for parking.
I bought him a pizza and a large tea when I returned but he was gone.

Giving the offerings to a homeless girl who'd taken up his spot, I walked away with the words "I'm allergic to pizza" ringing in my ears.

I had a guy spare change me a few years ago, and on my giving him a quid, responded, "Oh come on, man! I want to get some chicken McNuggets!"

I had a similar experience when I bought a homeless man a burger and he refused it saying "No thank you, I am a vegetarian".

This was back in the early 70's before vegetarianism was invented*

some guy in Soho asks me to buy the Big Issue
I looked at the cover, I can't remember who was on it, but it looked vaguely interesting so I gave him the £1 or whatever it was.

He then wouldn't give me the magazine. His logic was he only had 1 left and was I such a bastard I'd take his only Big Issue off him?

I actually found it sort of funny and didn't really mind.

Fuck that
I would have retrieved my pound and given him a sharp rap across the knuckles with my cane for his troubles
