Amazing displays of ignorance
Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

I heard a chap on the radio once talking about how dim his girlfriend could be
"Why is she so dumb?" asked the DJ.
"Well" the man explained through repressed laughter, "she doesn't believe in giraffes, but she is quite scared of werewolves!"

(Fx of blood draining from face)
I think I know this woman...
Her argument went something along the lines of "It's like dinosaurs. You see dinosaurs on TV, and everyone knows they aren't real, because they show you how it was done. But the werewolf wasn't on the television. It was in a film!"

"Why is she so dumb?"
Am I the only one who finds this an illogical way of asking the question?
As an explanation, my reply would be: A less well developed brain and/or an upbringing which didn't allow her to learn as much as she ought.
Or, to put it another way: did that belief really decrease her IQ, ability to think, or knowledge?

Yes...
...everyone else is just enjoying sniggering at the spackers. In other news the belief did not decrease her IQ but does provide evidence as to it's level.

Why does the earth orbit the sun?
Because I see the sun come up every morning.
Baboom-tish!
I'm here all week...

Pedantic as it may be
I do this all the time. I often find myself telling people they should be asking 'how' rather than 'why' (although this doesn't actually apply to this example).
/irrelevance
