This is a question Tactless

As grandmasterfluffles puts it, "My ex once told me, "That's the best sex I've ever had... Well, apart from with my cousin..."
What's the most tactless thing you've heard? And was it you saying it?

oh dear dear
recently a work colleague was complaining about his foot hurting and using it an excuse to make me do chores involving walking up and down a set of stairs. of course, i teased him. diddums and words to that effect.

he'd broken two bones in his ankle.

a year ago another friend was complaining about severe stomach cramps and using it an excuse to make me fetch him juice from the kitchen fridge. again, i teased him.

he texted me the next morning from the hospital. hernia.

my wife
Fell over and hurt her wrist and asked me to drive her to the walk in centre to have it checked. As she's always complaining of aches and pains I told her to stop being such a fairy. It would just be a sprain and we'll see what it's like in the morning.

Turns out she'd broken a small bone where the thumb joins on and she was in a cast for 10 weeks.

Oops!

I fell off my bike as a child
onto my arm, after whinging to my Mum she told me she would take me the hospital but if there was nothing wrong with me she would give me something to cry about. Luckily I had a broken wrist.
Good times.

"Luckily I had a broken wrist" isn't a phrase you hear often these days :)
Or any other days, for that matter

I went on holiday to Center Parcs with a few friends
We were all being boisterous in the pool, and messing around. As we went over the lump in the pool to get into the rapids, we all dived over at the same time, with a couple of us landing on the girls legs. After this, she spent a while limping, saying it was hurting a little. As she was complaining so little, we thought it'd just be a bruise or something, and to stop complaining.

She was one of the designated drivers, and had to work the clutch with this bad knee all the way back (3 hour drive, minimum). She went into work a few days later at the hospital, complaining her knee felt a bit 'loose'. After a scan, the full damage was revealed.

She'd torn a couple of ligaments, strained all the others, and pretty much irreperably damaged her knee. Oops.
