not Dowling, Dowling is a surname... there are 2 famous examples: Brian Dowling (he won Big Brother apparently) and Father Dowling from Father Dowling Investigates/The Father Dowling Mysteries (played by Tom Bosley).
One of my friends is called Dowling and I have heard the above statement approximately 800 times.
