Rising petrol costs?
Don't go to the petrol station when your tank is empty, go when it's half full and your petrol bills will mysteriously halve.

Apart from the fact...
...that you will have a heavier car constantly, and so, although the fuel bills will be halved, you will actually need to fill up more often.
I know it was a joke, but I heard that advice from somewhere last week.

Or
Simply invent a car that will run on urine
I realise that may be a bit more work, but it'll be worth it in the end

Or...
You could fill your tank with bricks, a bit like the "Toilet Hippo" thing in the cistern. No matter how big your tank is, it will then cost a lot less to fill it.
(obviously you'd have to use teeny-tiny bricks to get them through the filler. I'm not stupid!)

but,..
That would then havet he same problem that your fuel bills will go up because your car will be heavier.
The other problem with this, is that when your fuel light goes on, instead of having 30 miles to go, you'd get 15 :)
Instead, just half fill your tank and run it to empty. Thats acutally better. Because when youre running low on fuel you subconciously drive better, and your car is lighter so your fuel will go down less.
