: THE RATHERGOOD CORNER
"Spoon Guard Animation"
Joel Veitch runs a site called Rathergood.
He's our mate and we love his deranged work.
Joel writes -
"This week I've been thinking about spoons and
what a menace they are. If only there was
something you could buy for protection.
"So I've made this.

>> I'm Famous - Yay <<
"In other news, I'm very happy. UK style
magazine The Face interviewed me and gave my
site a lovely write-up. If you squint a bit
you can read a scan of it here."

: LET'S FIST AGAIN
The nasty hands are back. Again.
Kids in the playground sing songs - often rude
corruptions of pop hits that they've heard on
the radio.
We were thinking about this - and remembered
a version of Chubby Checker's "Let's Twist
Again" where the kids replaced the key word
with "fist."
Let's celebrate puerile humour. For the kids.

: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN MAY
Queen Guitarist 55 today.
B3ta regular and Queen fan Monkeon writes:
"A big fan like me knows that 19th July is a
very special day - for it's Brian Harold May's
birthday.
"To celebrate, I thought it would be an ideal
day to launch a collection of my Brian images."
Some of these are fantastic - the broccoli and
the knitting ones in particular.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK #1
Freddy Mercury, Gay Platform Game, Desk Quiz
>> Freddie Mercury's Big Egg Washing Race <<
Crazymum has made a new game. You have to pick
up soap, wash some eggs and avoid the bad ones.
It's actually quite innovative - in that it
doesn't rip off some crap arcade game from
the 80s.
http://www.crazymum.com/eggwasher.asp
>> Gay Platform Game <<
B3ta reader Si has emailed us and said, "We've
just finished a game for BBC Choice - it's a
cross between Loderunner, Worms, Bomberman and
John Inman." The controls are tricky to pick
up but it's worth persevering with. We don't
think it's very gay though. No cocks.

>> Which item on my desk are you? <<
B3ta programmer Cal appears to be a bit fed up
with all those "which thing are you?" quizzes
that do the rounds. He's made his own version
featuring the items on his desk. Apparently
we're "a box of Frosties". Hmm.

: HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY THIS WEEK
Buy a USB Fan
It's summer, it's hot, why not buy a fan that
plugs into your computer? Its unique selling
point is that it doesn't need batteries as it
takes power directly from your PC.
You'll be the coolest geek in the office.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK #2
Silly Porn Domains, B3ta Cheers Credits
>> Silly porn domain names <<
B3ta reader Ben has been thinking up funny
names for porn sites and checking whether
they are still available. It's quite a list
he's built. Our favourite? MyNiecesFaeces.com
http://www.shiola.co.uk/xxx_porn_domain_names.shtm...
>> B3ta - where everyone knows your name <<
JayBeeEmm is a keen B3ta message boarder. He's
taken the tune to the classic U.S. sitcom Cheers,
and reworked the opening credits with pictures
of board members. We found it utterly charming.

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.
>> Japanese Cat Game <<
Drag the correct cat onto the correct
silhouette in this endearing pattern matching
game.
http://www.com-th.net/relax/files/nekopuzz1.swf
>> Elf Porn <<
On the net every pervert finds a home. We were
surprised to learn that people fancy Elves.
(Er... hardcore porn with pointy ears.)
http://makeashorterlink.com/
>> Rude penis carrot <<
Vegetables that look rude are funny. This
naked man carrot made us chortle.
http://makeashorterlink.com/
>> Rate My Vomit <<
Did you see ratemypoo? What about ratemykitten?
Or even ratemyboobies? The "rate my x" trend
continues with this nauseating variation.
http://ratemyvomit.com
>> Strip Snake <<
Do you ever play snake on your phone? We're
completely addicted to it. We liked this
web version with anime ladies whose clothes
disappear as your score increases. Great tune too.
http://www.loungin.net/games/unreveal/unreveal.htm...
>> Portable truck toilet <<
A portable toilet that lets you shit into a bag
attached to the back of your big old pickup
truck. The pictures are quite odd. It's
literally a toilet on the back of a truck.
http://www.bumperdumper.com/bumper2.htm
>> Kill pedestrians game <<
Wow. This is fun. Control the car with your
mouse and kill the little people. It's got
a lovely responsive interface and great
sound effects.

: BOOTLEG MP3 OF THE WEEK
CD Compilation and Boomselection Theme Tune
Each week we talk to the_dr at Boom Selection
about his current favourite bootleg track.
the_dr writes -
"It's taken about 3 months, but the boom
selection CDs are out! It's 432 tracks and 11
mixes spread across 3 mp3-cds. Bootlegs,
remixes, bastard pop, cutups, glitch-ups and
all sorts of bizarre mp3s are contained within
what must be the most illegal release this year.
"Rough Trade are selling it via their site at
£17, and if any one else fancies stocking it
then get in touch.
http://makeashorterlink.com/
"This weeks tune? An 8 minute mix of tracks on
the CD. It's got loads of stuff you'll recognise,
and lots of surprises I won't spoil. Download
it!"

creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.
Last week we wanted know "How We Won the War."
http://b3ta.com/challenge/howewonthewar/
We asked B3ta friend Freddy Woo to judge
the entries - here are his 3 faves.
Freddy Woo writes -

about old computers. (chicago dave)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/2/0/2/6/6/5/
#2 "Nazis love Edwin Starr - Hitler's rallies
were show biz. Good reference.
