There was a really clever open reel mix on Youtube but it may have been removed. Splicing is an artform :)

My Dad had an old Grundig reel-to-reel that we used to play with as a kid and pride of place in my AV system is a high-speed B77. There is something fundamentally right about analogue tape recorders.
