: BURN RABBIT BURN...
Jada: where fish are killed with lasers

Dave is a 27-year-old artist who works a night shift in
a press clippings agency in London. He's been getting
into Flash recently, and Jada is his first effort.
He has taken a large rabbit and combined it with a load
of images that people had made on the Tsluts mailing
list. Plus some fish. The result is, well, weird.

Jada (Dave's movie)
http://www.btinternet.com/~david.st/b3ta/

Dave says Jada was influenced by two well-known
web animations - Hatten (which used a foreign
  language song) and Animatutation's Hyakugojyuuichi
(which took the "found images" approach to a new
  extreme.)

Hatten:

Dave hates the "Purple Ronnie" cartoons so much that
he runs his own ultra-dark cartoon strip called
"The Real Purple Ronnie". A Google search for Purple
Ronnie will return Dave higher than the official site.
  Ha!

: EEK! IT'S "SCHWARZENEGGER HANSON"!
Nine-year-old bodybuilder is new web celebrity

First there was Mahir "I Kiss You", then there
was the man who dressed up as Peter Pan...

... but the new weirdo that everybody's
emailing each other about is nine-year-old
  bodybuilder Richard Sandrak.

Richard looks like a member of Hanson
who's taken all the steroids in the world.
(BTW, he claims that he's been tested
on TV for steroid abuse and come up negative).

Amid various disturbing pictures of Richard
meeting N Sync, his site states that he gets
three offers of promotional, TV or movie
work every day. So watch your screens for stuff
like "Son of the Incredible Hulk"...

: QUEST FOR STICKMAN
  Searching Fox, hidden XiaoXiao

Xiaoxiao is the mysterious genius or geniuses
responsible for incredible Flash kung-fu animations
featuring stickmen that have been flying around the
web for the last few months.

The text in the Flash movies is in Chinese, so we found
a Chinese masseur, Mr Wong, who could translate it
  for us.

Mr Wong told us: the movies are hosted on Suho.com - an
information/entertainment portal based in China. Suho
  means "Searching Fox"

Xiaoxiao means "little". The development team is
  called 'Little Productions'

The first installment of the animations is called
"Lonely Fox begs for defeat". The recent Virtua
Cop-style shooting one is called "Xiaoxiao
  Special Force"

: RANDOM IMAGE ODDNESS
  Porn or bunnies?

Last week Rob at tsluts wrote a program that showed
you in real time what people had typed into a search
engine. This week we've glued it to a the Google image
  search engine.

Rob says, "I found it mesmerising - pressing refresh and
seeing what would happen next. sometimes a broken image,
sometimes porn, or even a nice fluffy kitty."

light a big spliff and press refresh:

: KILL YOUR FRIENDS UPDATE

A couple of weeks ago we released Kill Your Friends, a
game allowed people to upload a photo of their friends
  and shoot them.

Our favourite image uploaded so far is of the mysterious
Monaco - a man posing in his swimming trunks in a
  carpark.

: WEB HEROS
words from the people behind the pixels

  Name: Neil Cicierega
  Age: 14
Makes: fantastic animations of found images combined
with ultra-kitsch Japanese music. Makes his
         own music, too.
  Site: http://animutation.mixnmojo.com/

  When are you happiest?
Various times... Usually when I'm getting a lot
of work that I want to done, like when I'm
in full swing on an Animutation or song.

  What is your proudest moment?
Maybe early April, when Animutation Central was
suddenly flooded with hits. I've also had a few
semi-celebrities praise my music... My music's
also been played on the radio on occasion.

  Which ones?
Well, Dominic Armato, voice of Guybrush
Threepwood from Monkey Island commented on a
couple of my songs (because they used his voice
         :)... Logan Whitehurst, a fellow MP3.com
artist, whose music is much more popular than
mine and is played on the Dr. Demento show...
Micheal Land, who's composed lots of great music
over the years for LucasArts emailed me
once... also, Simon Jeffery, prez of LucasArts,
         liked my Animutation starring him.

What is the best film ever made?
Hmmm... I'm not too sure. I love all of
Tim Burton's movies, so probably one of those.
Out of them I think my current favorite is
         Ed Wood.

Yeah... the Plan 9 stuff is great. which scenes do you like?
I dunno... I like Bela's creative use of the
F word, and Bill Murray's part is funny. It's
a great movie, funny, tragic, and relatively
         accurate.

  What can you cook?
I can make some great scrambled eggs, and I
         do often.
