I once encounteredTony Hart filming above Dovedale on the way home from school in 1982. I made Mum stop the car and got him to sign a page of my maths book which I ripped out. We waited ages. Mr Bennett was wearing a prosthetic hawk's beak and running around the field flapping his arms. He came over and said hello too.
I got in massive trouble at school for vandalising my book. A surreal episode.
