# Ewwww...
Yes it's been slow for a while now - not sure if it's hols or if people are avoiding the board due to recent handbags incidences.

Given that it's slow - TJ:

Just sent this via the mailus form:

I'm not sure if this is worthy of a 'things we'd like to see' in a Newsletter, but in a slightly Stella-fuddled moment the other day, I had a grand vision for a collaborative project.

Wikibituaries

Everybody knows that all the major news media maintain a load of obituaries on the shelf ready for when ageing or particularly hardcore public figures drop off the twig, and equally there's the old wikideaths lark of killing people off on Wikipedia. Why not bring the two together to create a resource where a community of - admittedly probably a bit morbid - people maintain a resource of user-generated obituaries for slebs and other public figures?

Generally for a few lols, but you never know, it might prompt the odd Z-lister, on viewing their own obituary, to think along the lines of 'shit is that it? I'd best get my finger out and actually make something of the rest of my days!' You can but try.

I'm rubbish with anything code-y or behind the screen in terms of websites and the like, but it strikes that within the broad church of b3ta, there might well be someone who's a) got the aptitude, b) is up for the craic, and c) has the time on their hands, to set this thing up...

Thought I'd chuck it here and see if there's any interest, of if it was just my alcohol-fuelled ramblings at work...

# I'd probably be up for doing some content work.
I can foresee moderation - particularly in respect of any issues regarding slander/libel - being quite a big issue with such a site ;o)

# It sounds like a decent idea
In my experience:
To make a wiki work well you'll need a server guy who really knows his stuff as wiki software in general tends to chew up your bandwidth. I post on a medium-density wiki and it still goes down at peak times :/
