# Tech question for you all
Some of the images posted here only load half way (or less) for me - grey for much of the picture.

Others fully load with no problems. I have been here for ages but this problem has only just started happening in the last few months. Using Mac OS Safari but the same thing happens in other browsers.

Any ideas? Is this happening to anybody else?

# it happens to me sometimes too, but not too often.
i just put it down to a bandwidth issue

# I sometimes see exactly this
and also some flashing and partial loading with animated gifs.
I reckon at least some of it is due to b3tards, and is related to slow load times.
I notice it more in Safari, but I only use that on the iPhone, which tends to load b3ta slower than my PC. But I have noticed it in Firefox on the PC too, particularly when page loads times are slow.

# I get it too
I put it down to my OS which isn't Windows or Mac or even standard for Linux. I expect some crap. Refreshing (sometimes more than once) often sorts it out.

# Some web rendering kits are fucked.
It seems like they cache a stalled load, even though this
is incorrect. In haste to glean size of the picture and not
have the page rescroll and redraw. Just a guess I havent
looked at any of the internals to webkit and the like.

# It also happens
if I go to the sender's page and look for the post to reload, or if I try to open in a new window.
and then sometimes the full image will finally load (as it has now in this case.)

# Yeah, thats the rub.
Unless the cached version gets purged you'll pull it rather than load.
Some browsers now don't even have a force-reload anymore to bypass this.

# I reckon there's something to this
based on the fact that a hard reload often fixes it.
