Both are as uncomfortable.
I can't remember a whole lot about Marathon Man; I was half asleep watching it, but I can remember that fella is a Nazi dentist, not a very nice man.

It's as much about the fact that he genuinely has no clue whatsoever what Olivier is going on about.
Psychological as much as the physical aspects of that scene.

Also: why is it if you're expecting an important email, loads of people you haven't heard from in ages suddenly send mail (causing mini heart attacks when you see "Inbox: 1")?
