# I think we are going through the age of enlightenment 2.0
And this time it's gonna kick ass because a kid in africa or Iran will have a portable device in his hand that he will be able to question any bullshit that he is told, a non belief in God is the fastest growing belief system. woo yeah go internets!

# Exactly.
The only reason religion caught on is because our ancestors didn't know a fraction of what we know now, thanks to our extensive testing and research, and like you say, the way our world has become much more interconnected through the web.

It's when people decide to take a step out of their bubbles and examine the universe for what it is, and not what an ancient book told them, that the world will become a much more wonderful place.

# I give religion as we know it 5 years
i even think the pope is an athiest, if he truly believed in "God" he would be supporting the large hadron collider instead of condemning it as if what he said is true it will reveal old beardy chops on the cloud did it all....

# Yeah. If I'm honest, I'm surprised it's still going.
It's really disheartening to know there's whole groups of people out there, ready to disregard actual, physical tests being done by the world's greatest minds. The fellas at the LHC, and indeed, every physicist, chemist and biologist, deserve so much more than that.

# If this was or is a war between Science and Religion..
I am confident that i know who will win. peer reviewed and constantly changing based on evidence against an old book with power hungry apologists contradicting themselves daily, oh and they rape children.

# It's rather amusing
that scientists will never jump to conclusions without thorough testing and examination, whereas the religious lot just accept what a book written hundreds of years ago said.

And yeah, the whole paedo thing is a no no, too.
