That sucks. You guys should just stay England. Being American is cool and all, but that's because it's the land of the cowfolk, the fertile soil and the GWBush. We have no scones, no queen, and no cool accents that everyone adores instead of makes fun of (mine's a hearty southern one). I swear, I could tell you two plus two is five and you'd think I'm an idiot. Say it with a british/foreign (to us) accent, and I'd be given a Nobel Prize.

heres how it works in my country. The queen does fuck all and is despised by 95% of the population. I live in a place where people will happily come and punch you in the face for wearing something they dont like/talking differently to them. Whenever my friends from other places, i.e america, london, anywhere that isnt manchester, or more precisely, Dickybird, bury, come round, i tell them to not talk very loudly on the street cos its draws attention to us.

I never understood how people can *hate* the Queen. I mean most of the UK population are surely completely indifferent to her.

Surely the ones who hate her are as rare and strange as the ones who fawn all over her.
