# Actually, a few years ago
I was trying to mix gerbils from two different cages together because one of them was on its own and looked lonely. By about midnight I thought that it was all going well, because they'ed been together for about 6 hours and seemed to be ok, so I went to bed.
I got up in the morning and went to look at them, but couldnt find one. The tank they were in was shut and there was no way they could have got out, so I dug down into the sawdust that the cage was filled with.

Buried in the sawdust I found the smaller gerbil dead with tooth marks in its head. Apparently during the night they'ed fallen out.

# He's going bald
But then, in Gerbil years, he is well over the 100 mark.

The thing on his stomach hasnt changed though, which is generaly a good sign.
