...you started it.

Ferret's ain't no marsupial, foo'. Here be the facts:

Kingdom: Animalia (The ferret is a multi-celluar organism)
Phylum:Chordata (Romsca's kind has spinal chords!)
Sub-Phylum:Vertebrata (They have backbones too!)
Class:Mammalia(Ferrets are furry, endothermic, and have mammary glands!)
Sub-Class:Placentals(The domestic ferret is vivaporous. In other words, live-bearing.)
Order:Carnivora(Romsca is designed to kill prey with highly-specialized feet and jaws.)
Family:Mustelidae (Ferrets are in the weasel family. Lithe creatures with generally short snouts and short ears. Most are known for killing creatures larger than themselves.)
Sub-Family:Mustelinae (The true weasel sub-family. What one generally thinks about when one thinks of weasels.)
Genus:Mustela (The even truer weasels. The Weasels.)
Species:putorious (The species of the European polecat, the species of polecat believed to be the basis DNA base for the domestic ferret. The Siberian polecat and/or Steppe polecats may have been cross-bred with this polecat over the years to get the domestic weasel we know today.)
Sub-Species:furo (This would be considered the domestic strain of the European polecat.)

And if you're really, really bored, you can find out how Marsupials and Placentals differ here
