I assume he's not the driver, but I've no idea which of the others he is.

you can make a pretty convincing argument for that song being about that incident, really
When the Archduke Franz Ferdinand visited Sarajevo, Odbrana's first assasination attempt (grenade) failed.
Later the same day, Gavrilo Princip shot both the Archduke and his pregnant wife Sofia.
According to another member of Odbrana, the first shot hit Sofia in the abdomen. The Archduke made no attempt to protect himself and was struck by the second shot.
So, you could make a case for the song recreating the moment between the two shots, as the Archduke contemplates his dead wife and never-to-be-born child and prays for the assassin's bullet.
