I went to a battle of the bands the other day.
My lady friends band worked the crowd into a frenzy, then an emo band came on. I was disgusted by the fact they weren't booed off. Although if they were, I might have missed them saying, "This next song is a bit gentler than our others..." before launching into the loudest noise I've ever heard.

I reached two conclusions from that concert;
1) Emos always slit their wrists to end their lives because of the music they listen to.
2) If you play really loudly it becomes difficult (but not impossible) for people to tell how bad you actually are.

Well, I do know why. They do look emo. But they're too nice and mainstream to be pure emo.

I think Emo has become a general term
for feeling sorry for yourself dispite having things rather easy.

Whether this is an accurate representation of the emo community is questionable.
