I think the animated version of him is a little like Max Headroom

except he didn't smash his head on a barrier, he just went loopy cos of all the drugs.

nah, they'd probably ruin it if they re-made it

and I'm not sure if I could stand seeing David Owen trying to do another Party Political broadcast in that style

whichever party he's in at the moment of course
