In other news I just had the worst review of my fucking life. I am now in fear for my job.

Quit the job and be a suicide boy.
I had wondered where you'd gone.

I'd love to work on my own in a little room. That sounds like bliss.
*currently works in a big room with lots of people*
Edit- *hug* good luck, whatever.

"bad review"+"feel like that's it"
I'd call that planned...

because people do get very two faced and full of crap
and if the review was completely one sided about how badly you've done the job it's not usually a good sign
also, I'd say, that if they wait for a review to tell you how bad your performance is, your direct management is incompetant. utterly incompetant.
If your direct management isn't shit, then someone has decided they don't like you for whatever reason. The "whatever reason" can be absolutely anything. It could even be something simply nothing to do with you.
I'm not trying to pour piss on your parade here, it's just the way things go
/discomeats had it with crap employers and juvenile coworkers blog

To be fair, they did also say that I was very good at certain things - the skills I need are all there, the last month has seen some very good reports coming in etc.
I'm wondering if it's just me taking everything too much to heart and panicking.
My manager basically said "I know it's stressful, but keep doing what you're doing and improve your communication and you should be ok".
Fingers crossed, eh?

just remember that a boss isn't just there to tell you what to do, he's also there to make sure you are able to do what you are meant to do.
it's a distinction that some don't get.
just think happy thoughts, and it's only a job, and there's plenty more out there :D
tho being jobless and destitute is no fun :(
yay \o/

...and spending 6 years drifting from one shite short-term job to another, relying on driving a fucking taxi to pay most of the bills.
(whilst having the satisfaction of seeing the company fold completely within 2 months due to the loss of their entire programming team (me), and they inability to get anyone else to work in such a shite environment. if your lucky)

haven't been proactive, etc etc.
On the other hand they have said they're very happy with my work this last month.
Also they have no problem with my skills.
We'll see how it pans out, but I'm going to try my hardest to make sure I keep this job.
