The thing is, I see 2001 as a film about evolution (rather than being merely science fiction). Obviously in Creationism terms this never happened, so it seemed a good place to start.

Beyond that, fuck knows. Hal 9000 looks a bit like a nice shiny red apple and Dave Bowman is 'tempted' by him and trips out (as depicted in the 'Star Gate' sequence).

God (Stanley Kubrick) does the God thing and punishes them both by sending them back several million years, where we see them as monkeys.

Again, this wouldn't happen 'cos it *didn't* happen.

So, to summarize...the little film strip there makes about as much sense as Creationism.
