At a place I used to work
I discovered where the hold music came from and hooked up a little CD player to it.
I programmed all the stuff I thought was pretty cool.
Seemed to have a lot more "dropped calls" though, as nobody wanted to stay on hold for very long.

I used to work for Autodesk years back
Their German office used to play the company song which was hard to listen to without pissing yourself.

Fasthosts used to have Ghostbusters
I used to call them almost weekly, and put the hold music on speakerphone. That was great :D
At the company I worked for at the time, we tried to switch it to the theme tune from the Muppets, which would have been more than appropriate.

The worst was stuck on hold to COmpaq for 40 minutes
I had to listen to most of a Clannad album!

I remember being stuck
on hold to Vodaphone for ages once and got fed up. I just put them on speaker and then put the phone next to my speaker and went on with my buisiness. As soon as I heard them answer I played the previously cued ( in winamp ) 'Fields of Athenry' at great volume until they hung up.
I have done questionable things.

I had some ol' service desk trout who put me on hold 7 times in just over ten minutes
So I asked her to hold and subjected to to about two minutes of me going 'Doo dodo do doobie dodo' before she gave up.
