One thing that shocked me in a couple of hospitals,
is that they often have Burger Kings or similar in them.

mostly visitors and staff who pay for their food, and they're probably contributing greatly to the running costs of the trust. just as long as the dieticians are making sure the patient menus don't get mixed up with the whoppers

I expect some outpatients or people just in for a brief appointment do too.
As far as I'm concerned, a hospital shouldn't be touching that kind of thing with a bargepole.

most outpatients want to get out as soon as possible to avoid paying another £50 parking.
it's not ideal, but there are greater evils the NHS could link itself with.
