# Woo!
I must say thats a fantastic source pic. The rare three legged Connery

# It's from the DVD

# Goldfinger is my all time
2nd favourite Bond movie
(, Sun 6 Apr 2008, 7:45, archived)
# I like it too
I think that, like a lot of 'evil megalomaniac with an evil plot' Bond movies, the set-up is better than the climax (Spy Who Loved Me is the exception), but it's still really good.

It's definitely in my top five; From Russia With Love is my favourite (I think the pure espionage Bond films are generally better).

# Aye
Naturally the Connery flicks are always the best ones. My personal favourite is "Dr No", and I have to agree, the espionage plots are the best ones.
As for "On her majesty's secret service"... No... just No! Lazenby, NO! Bond getting married, NO! Its just full of fail.

# I like bits of OHMSS
the soundtrack and some of the action sequences (like the ski chase) are fantastic

# Apparently
Connery has stated that he'd like to come out of retirement for one last role, but he'd only do it to play a bad guy in a Bond movie.

I love Connery so the thought of this makes me turgid

# Well, I'd have to disagree there. It's one of the only films that actually stays faithful to the book.
Obviously It's not Sean Connery but then again it's not Die Another Day either

# I think OHMSS gets a lot of unfair criticism
it's in my top ten
(, Sun 6 Apr 2008, 8:02, archived)
# I agree, I prefer it in front of the majority of Bond films.

# It would be six I think
just outside my top five of two Connery films (Goldfinger & FRWL) and one each from Roger (Spy Who Loved Me), Timothy (I think the opening teaser and the extended action sequence involving the Hercules at the end of The Living Daylights [like when it bombs the bridge] are some of the best in the entire series), and Pierce (Goldeneye is great [mainly because of Judi Dench & Sean Bean], but the rest of his films are meh).

I haven't seen the new Casino Royale, but it looks very good (if a little dark/cruel) from what I've seen & heard.

# Good choice.
I'd certainly agree with that. The Living Daylights is very underrated. I personally also like Live and Let Die as well.

# I do like the tongue-in-cheek funky blaxploitation aspect of Live and Let Die
it's very funny...

"Y'all take this honky out and waste him - now!"

(Dalton only did two films, but both of them are good; I liked his take on Bond)

# Casino Royale was not bad at all.
Certainly a departure from what that daft boot Barbara Broccoli turned the late Brosnan ones into. I tried to watch Die Another Day once..... switched it off 3/4 of the way in. It made me feel physically sick. The only Bond film which I have never (and will never) watch all the way through)
(, Sun 6 Apr 2008, 8:29, archived)
# to me casino royale is a great movie
but it doesn't really connect with James Bond at all. Its better to watch it as a movie rather than a James Bond movie, then its great.

Make sense? on a Sunday??

# Personally,
Brosnan is actually my fave Bond. I dont know why really, he just is. I loved his cheekiness. However, I had not seen Die Another Day until the other night when it was on. I also turned off half way through. It was utter wank.

I do think that his other 3 were top top though!
