YES it is possible to open animated gifs in CS3

all you do is open the folder the file is in and type '.' in the open file box in Photoshop

Then they magically appear ;)

I think thats just on the PC version...

You can open a gif but you just get the first frame.

There's a quicktime workaround IIRC
