Really good suggestion but you'll have to web search it yourself.
I bought it for a mates kid that was 4 at the time. You can buy a lil cardboard and perspex 'contruct in seconds' kit. Once you have made it you send off the prepaid card and they send you back a little packet of butterfly eggs and the kid can grow them from eggs into catapillars, to butterflys from there.:)
Went down a treat. If you're in London I know you can but them from the Kensington Children's Bookshop.
Not only does it cost about 15 quid but it last for months:)
