# Well,

EDIT: it was part of the Wario party game thing, where you have to do lots of different movements rapidly.

You know why? It's actually following the compo brief and is funny.

So I clicked it.

PS: "Brief" pfffft.

# I know what you mean, very few of the entries fit the brief.
... although my one does. SPAM SPAM SPAM

# haha
That 2nd frame reminds me of that terrible Laserdisc game in the 80's - Dragon's Lair, wasn't it?
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 18:46, archived)
# I don't remember that one, I'm afraid.
Wait a minute, Laserdisc "game"? I didn't even know there was such a thing.

"...and was played so heavily that many machines often broke due to the strain of overuse".

I've started inserting my own mental "citation needed" notes when reading Wikipedia.

# Oh it was well known for killing
the laserdisc players. It was only any good in the arcades.
The later versions were on Amiga and were superb. In fact I might just look for the games for an emulator and have a little play.
I swear, in the early 80's, going from 'defender' being about as good as it got to suddenly seeing DL was like man discovering god in a cave.
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 19:02, archived)
# Well, yes I'm with you there :D
The first time I saw it being played I just stood there staring at it thinking "this is the future" - until I realised how one played it, then I was heavily disappointed

edit: I just accidentally resized an image to 150,000 pixels wide and my PC just shat itself

# yeah
it was a bit disappointing when you realised that you were just watching a cartoon where, if you were very lucky, you pressed a few buttons in the right sequence to see the next part of the cartoon. But still astounding to see when it came out.
I know for a fact that on my first ever visit to the Trocadero this was the first game I played. ( but quickly moved on to the G-Loc 360 and Formula 1 simulators )

# Well, it was about time the released it in some home-playable form with the technology that they have today
Technically, one could play it with a DVD remote control though

Nice :)
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 19:21, archived)
# that's been done I'm sure it has...

(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 19:52, archived)
# yeah it's been on HD DVD
a while
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 19:57, archived)
# Got it on DVD from Poundland.
That's the price of two games on the original when it came out...
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 20:10, archived)
# it was broken in the arcades
99% of the time

it was the most likely to be completely fucked of all laserdisc games in arcades as I recall
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 19:47, archived)
# be quiet chump! ;)

(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 19:56, archived)
# hah!

and that's what I think!
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 19:59, archived)
# Dragon's Lair was ace
when it came out. There was simply no other technology to match it. It did cost you a fortune in the arcade if you got any of the pre-defined moves wrong and had to pay to start again.
(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 18:52, archived)
# pffffft :D

(, Sat 21 Feb 2009, 18:40, archived)
