I think it's terribly funny
when people with multiple PhD's and years of experience fuck up a program that cost Billions and took decades to plan because... well, because that's how the world is...

in this exact case
the program was a resounding success and the crash was fully intended.
what i like is when people with phds and years of experience don't check if things are in centimetres or inches and splatter probes across the surface of mars. or when bearded west country people with phds and years of experience launch a satellite in a blaze of publicity and don't give it big enough parachutes, so that it, too, splatters across the surface of mars.
