Wellapparently it's an image because not everyone has the fonts installed.
My thinking is, anyone that it would be meaningful to would probably have the fonts installed. So the image is for the benefit of people who almost certainly couldn't understand it.
It certainly generates some attention though, eh?

Also as an image it can't be fed into an internet translator by the curious.Meaning it really is just some squiggly lines.
