I will be in DC from 23rd to 28th August and plan to meet up with The Resident Loon. Is anyone else around?

clendra will be in town that week with a friend to do tourist type things. My thought was that if we wanted to do an event to last most of a day there are some great places here in the Richmond area to go to (parks and the like) that would be great for hanging out for a bit. Additionally, there's a good restaurant with over 250 kinds of beer that's just off of one of the expressways here, so it's easy to find (and happens to be near my house, in case anyone needs to sleep it off).

Alternately, if people would prefer to meet up in DC, I'm certainly up for doing that- but we would need someone familiar with that area to recommend where to meet.

So what will it be, people?

You know, while i LOVE Richmond, if a touristy thing is the objective, Washington, DC with its museums and monuments might well be perfect.

I used to work four blocks from the White House and know the area pretty well, so perhaps meeting up at Old Ebbits Grill and then doing a tour of the National Mall?

Whatever the plan, I am up for it, but I DO have a previous engagement for that evening, so maybe I could swoop in, do the history/tour guide thingy and then skitter off to make my evening appointment?

Citadel Because the world needs less morons

I think Justin and I have the sightseeing in DC covered, and we wanted to spend a day out of the city, so travelling to Loon is a definite. I think Monday 25th would be the ideal day for us to do this. I know that's OK with Citadel - Loon?

I'll be available that weekend... The 24th is Sunday. It would make for a longer visit if we can do it that day, as I have the usual Mon-Fri type job, although I could probably wriggle a little time off on Monday if needed.

We can meet at my house- it's easy to get to from the expressways- and then go forth from there. What do you think?
