This is a normal post We hit a big suprise one this spring on a sailing vessel...
This vessel: new.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/261148000

It's a cadet training vessel, so it's pretty stable once it's got it's lean on.
However, somewhere off the coast of north Portugal, we hit one:
Things went from "ending our meal" to:
A) Everything not bolted down, that includes cadets and a vat of cold soup lifts one meter from the ground.
B) Ship rolls to one side. Objects stay in about the same place relative to the earth yet starting to accelerate towards the ground at 9.81m/s.
C) Remember the part about the ship rolling?
That made the whole room fly across the semi static levitating objects/cadets/soup.
D) Ships resumes prior position like nothing happened.
Stunned silence in cadet room punctuated by the rolling of a few stainless steel cups across the floor.

Better than a Alton Tower's ride.
