why is this run in reverse?
Looks like he fix the split between the standing trucks and they then drove off and came together later, leaving him in the position hee I'd in at the start of the clip.
If they were really driving backwards then the maneuver to separate would have resulted in the semi-trailers going all over the place, as Amy fule that's ever backed up with a trailer kno.
Still a nice feat by him. Just bad editing.

The trucks are actually reversing.
They are reversing to highlight a feat that could not be achieved before the Volvo product was made.

Ha! Volvo are cheating Cnuts!
While the straight backing up of the semi-trailer is impressive, the truck that swerved to allow the split is a standard 3 able job. The camera moving to vd's left at the end shows the semi-trailer, implying the other truck is the same (as does the behind the scenes video!) But on closer inspection the foul cheating of the marketing sum is revealed!
Didn't make the split any less eye watering, but the technological marvel of the trucks is greatly diminished.

Nice Idea
but wholly unbelievable that the first time Van Damme is told what he's expected to do is on set with the lorries all ready to go. Haha (doesn't detract from the impressive leg-action he's got going on)

I sooo want this to be true
I did notice some odd looking reflections on the facing sides of the truck as the camera moves, but I'm willing to believe. I WANT TO BELIEVE.

Aces!
The rest in the series are rather good too, especially the one with the hamster.
No, really.
