The world outside my window
Time-Lapses of Earth from the ISS. Really quite beautiful, and worth full screening.

Great stuff, but can anyone on here tell me if the shot 0.24-0.30 represents actual speed?
There's quite a bit of time lapse on there, but how fast, relative the earth's surface is the ISS going?

One orbit every 92 mins (or thereabouts)
Call it 90 mins (5400 seconds).
Earth circumference is approx 40000km so that's a surface velocity of ~7.4 km/sec

What about the actual velocity though? Because its orbit must be more than 40000km.
Unless it's orbiting a few foot from the ground.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!
Oh yeah, there it goes!

Just completed the mammoth task of cleaning the man-cave,
now to sample a nice glass of Pinot Grigio (5 gallon, home made) and relax on 1080p.
